When you want to transmit audio signals over longer distances, it is advisable to use balanced connections. For this reason, the outputs of professional audio equipment such as mixers are balanced. The circuitry shown here is used to convert a balanced audio signal into an unbalanced one. It enables you to connect, for example, a hi-fi amplifier to a balanced output.
