Elsewhere in this magazine you can learn about a method to connect two ‘digital’ rotary encoders to a microcontroller using only one analog input. In this article, we will do the opposite, sort of, as we will connect two analog potentiometers to one digital input.

(5%, 0.125 W)

R1 = 1 kΩ

R2 = 1.8 kΩ

R3,R4,R5 = 10 kΩ
R6 = 15 kΩ

R7 = 12 kΩ

P1,P2 = 10 kΩ potentiometer, linear, side mount

 

Capacitors

C1,C2,C3 = 100 nF, 5 mm pitch
 

Semiconductors

IC1 = LM324

 

Miscellaneous

K1 = 3-pin pinheader, 0.1” pitch
