In November 1977 Elektor kicked off a series of articles on the “SC/MP”, their first-ever attempt at publishing a microprocessor system for home construction. Originally no more than a learning system with 256 bytes of RAM and binary data and address entry, the “scamp” as it was called evolved into a real 8-bit computer even running BASIC, playing Pong, and singing badly.
