In the previous article, we discussed the development of an autonomous sensor node focusing on environmental data collection. While the setup was functional, power consumption, especially in idle states, was identified as a key area for improvement. In this update, we discuss how integrating the MAX31334 RTC with a built-in power switch helps optimize power consumption and extends battery life.
