Improve time to market! Add to that the wish to lower the costs of product development and product life-time maintenance (cost of ownership) plus the desire that new technologies should be more easily accessible (entry barriers) and what you get is the holy trinity of management obsessions. Do these people ever close an eye at night? Luckily for them there are companies out there that care and that try to develop tools to make their life easier.
Renesas is such a company and their Synergy tool suite targeted at accelerating embedded development maybe just the right one for you. The platform combines an extensive software library (SSP) with a free Eclipse-based GCC software development environment (e² studio) and a family of pin-compatible ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and development boards. The Renesas S1, S3, S5 and S7 series range from 32Mhz Cortex-M0+ devices up to 240 MHz Cortex-M4. GUI design is made easy thanks to GUIX Studio. Synergy Software Package (SSP) version 1.0.0 has just been released, and the S7G2 microcontrollers are now ready for mass production.
Complementary to the Renesas Synergy Platform, Renesas is offering its DevCon Extension series of in-city and online events to interested persons.
