Embedded Java Brings GUIs To Appliances
on
STMicroelectronics has rolled out innovative Java development software and microcontrollers aimed at making simple, low-cost, high-tech equipment easy to use. STM32Java provides a toolbox for building advanced graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for products such as kitchen appliances, office machines, industrial tools and medical instruments, based on STM32 microcontrollers. Following up on the STM3220G-JAVA Starter Kit introduced in May 2012, the new toolbox provides customers with everything they need to build Java apps for embedded deployment.
Allowing design techniques similar to those used in the mobile industry, it is also suited for building small machine-to-machine (M2M) communication apps for Internet of Things (IoT) devices, such as remote sensors. The toolbox provides an integrated development environment with its Java compiler, several Java platforms optimized for STM32 microcontrollers, standard libraries and related tools, functionally accurate simulators, starter kits and predefined STM32 part numbers for device production.
