HP has announced at the CES in Las Vegas, USA, among other things, that their Spectre 360 13.3” hybrid laptop can be supplied with a QHD OLED display. Because of the removable screen this hybrid can be used either as a tablet or as a laptop. The Quad HD screen with a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels produces better color than more conventional screens with an increased contrast. The OLED screen is thinner and lighter—great for a laptop— and delivers a color gamma of 103% versus the 72% that ‘normal’ WLED screens can produce.
The buyer also has the option to choose Intel Iris graphics and up to 1 TB SSD storage. With that the Spectre 360 is clearly intended for the more demanding applications and higher quality.
The 15.6” model can be supplied with a 4K touch screen, that unfortunately is not (yet?) OLED.
