Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now stocking the iMOTION™ Modular Application Design Kit (MADK) platform from Infineon Technologies. The iMOTION MADK is a compact and flexible evaluation system that provides a scalable design platform for three-phase motor drives ranging from 20W to 300W. With the iMOTION MADK, design engineers can quickly create a fully functional motor system, reducing design time and effort and speeding time to market.
The Infineon iMOTION MADK platform is a modular and scalable system solution available from Mouser Electronics as four full-featured kits. Each kit includes a control board with Segger J-Link debug interface, a complete power stage including rectifier, and an electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter. Using the iMotion platform’s standardized M1 Interface, engineers can combine different power boards with the control board for maximum flexibility and scalability during the evaluation and development phase at a lower cost. In addition to the iMOTION kits, Mouser also stocks separate power boards, as well as controller boards based on the Infineon XMC1302 ARM® Cortex®-M0 microcontroller or the iMOTION IRMCK099 digital motion control IC with integrated Motor Control Engine (MCE).
The iMOTION MADK platform operates through field-oriented control (FOC) software, which offers support for sensorless motor control based on the XMC1302 microcontroller, as well as for Hall sensors or 3D magnetic sensors. The motor control software features an easy-to-use GUI software for defining parameters and tuning. Further application software development can be implemented via DAVE™, Infineon’s free-of-charge integrated development environment (IDE), or with major ARM IDEs, like Keil, IAR or Atollic.
