Elektor are pleased to introduce the Maker Movement: a worldwide movement headed by MakerMedia. MAKE unites, inspires, informs and entertains a growing community of resourceful young people who undertake amazing projects in their backyards, basements, garages dorms, and just about anywhere else they can find. MAKE celebrates these people’s ability to tweak, hack, bend, and reverse-engineer any technology. In order to achieve this, MAKE have published some inspiring books to guide readers through their innovation process, four of which are now available in the Elektor Store.
Firstly we have MAKE: Wearable Electronics, a book intended to attract the attention of those with an interest in physical computing who are looking to create interfaces or systems that live on the body. Perfect for makers new to wearable tech, this book introduces you to the tools, materials, and techniques for creating interactive electronic circuits.
Secondly, MAKE: Raspberry Pi and AVR Projects. This book is aimed at intermediate to advanced Raspberry Pi users and explores four different projects from around the world, explained by their creators. These projects provide diverse examples of five major categories in the digital maker space: music, light, games, home automation and of course the IoT.
Next, is the MAKE: AVR Programming volume. This book focuses of the Atmel AVR micros — that’s right, the chips that power Arduino. AVRs are the go-to chips for many hobbyist and hardware hacking projects. This book will put the Arduino environment to one side, and focus on the direct programming of AVR microcontrollers.
Finally, we have MAKE: More Electronics. This is an extensive overview of All Things Electronic, and provides an exciting journey deep in to the world of logic chips, amplifiers, sensors, multiplexers, and other logic components. Right away, you will be working on real projects, exploring all the key components and essential principles through the book's collection of experiments. You will start off by building the circuits, and then you will learn the theory behind them!
So surf to the Elektor Store today to get your hands on these books!
