Review: PeakTech 3440 True Graphics Multimeter
Data Logging
To test the endurance of the PeakTech 3440's lithium battery ,a series of measurement test runs were carried out overnight. After twelve hours of operation the battery was showing it was still half full. Dimming the display lighting would certainly reduce the drain on the battery as would increasing the time between measurements. It would certainly make the multimeter much more useful if you could use it at the same time the battery was being charged. It is much easier to simply transmit a series of measurements to the PC via USB rather than to perform complete remote control of a measuring device using USB, LAN or GPIB (a remote controller would of course be more flexible). Unfortunately, the manufacturer's website does not provide any PDF documentation describing features of the PC tools.
Support
I contacted the support at Peaktech to try to resolve the issue with the spikes occurring during the range changes. The reply came within a day, in fact within minutes of my email. It appears as though they are not aware of the problem.Smart Device connectivity
The multimeter can also be connected via Bluetooth to a smart device running Android or iOS. I tested this feature using an older version of Android, and it worked well.Learn more about other PeakTech devices.
