This project describes how to modify a Smart Home Door Switch to a Water Alarm Device.
There are a lot of Smart Home devices to buy. The most sold devices are magnetic or optical door and window switches. These devices are relatively cheap. But how is it with water alarm devices? These devices are much more expensive.
So, I ask me if it's possible to modify a Smart Home door or window switch for using it as water alarm device.
I had the following requirements:
• Low cost project
• Simple to build
• Possibility to roll back the original Smart Home door switch functionality
After exploring some devices I found a simple solution to modify a Smart Home door switch for using it as water alarm device.

thank you for replacing the old zip file with the new one.
Meanwhile I found out that not in all browsers the editing UI offers the deleting functionality.
Hint for downloading the documentation: In the SmartHomeWaterAlarmRev1.zip was a wrong version of the document for some hours available. The correct version has the last change time stamp 10/02/2017 15:06.

which magnet door switch do you use?
Is it an AV2010 / 21A?
Various magnetic door switches can
have different trigger voltages.
In that case it might be necessary to
adjust the resistances in your circuit...

I used a Bitron Home 902010/21A Smart Home door switch.
