The new BMX160 device from Bosch Sensortec is an extremely compact nine-axis motion sensor. The sensor is suitable for a variety of application areas, including smartphones, smartwatches, fitness trackers, and devices for augmented or virtual reality.
Very small sensors with low power consumption are essential for wearables. The miniaturized, energy-efficient BMX160 nine-axis sensor, with a current consumption of just 1.5 mA, is ideal for wearable applications. With dimensions of 2.5x3.0x0.95 mm, it is the smallest nine-axis motion sensor currently available.
The BMX160 effectively replaces the current combination of a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) and a three-axis geomagnetic field sensor. The new sensor is pen and register compatible with the industry-standard BMI160 six-axis IMU from Bosch Sensortec, enabling easy upgrading of existing designs.
