The Summer Circuits 2022 edition of Elektor Magazine revisits a Summer Circuit from 2003: the US-Style Siren by Ludwig Libertin. This circuit can produce three different realistic siren sounds: ambulance, police, and fire brigade.
The engineers at Elektor designed a special printed circuit board (PCB) for the siren that can be placed in a wooden stand to turn it into a decorative object. It looks great on your desk, or give it to your children to play with.
The schematic of the circuit is printed on the topside of the printed circuit board and the components are placed as in the schematic, so it is easy to see what goes where.

The US-Style Siren as an Easy-to-Build Kit
The siren is available as a kit that includes the circuit board, all the parts you need to assemble it (except the 2032-type 3 V button cell) and a nice wooden stand. As all the parts are through-hole devices, assembling the board is not very difficult and will cost you 30 to 60 minutes at most.Resources
