Job description: Technical translator

Who might be a good fit for our full-time technical translator (English-German) position? Someone who enjoys translating, proofreading and perfecting technical texts, such as Elektor Mag, technical books, and online news items. Since we often work with tight deadlines, organizational skills are almost as important as sufficient basic knowledge of electronics and programming. 

In this important role, you will support our international editorial team (which creates original texts in English) by translating English text to German. Preferably, you will work full time (40 hours per week), but 32 or 36 hours is also negotiable. Elektor is a progressive publisher. Although human skills are still crucial for good quality, we expect AI tools such as ChatGPT and DeepL to play an important role in translations. Your role in finding the right balance will be very important!
